About Us
The Nebraska Radiological Society (NRS) is a chapter of the American College of Radiology
(ACR). In order to be a member of the NRS, it is also necessary to be a member of the ACR.
The 32,000 members of the ACR include radiologists, radiation oncologists, medical physicists, interventional radiologists and nuclear medicine physicians. For over three quarters of a century,
the ACR has devoted its resources to making imaging safe, effective and accessible to those who
need it.
The mission of the ACR is to serve patients and society by maximizing the value of radiology,
radiation oncology, interventional radiology, nuclear medicine and medical physics by
advancing the science of radiology, improving the quality of patient care, positively influencing
the socio-economics of the practice of radiology, providing continuing education for radiology
and allied health professions and conducting research for the future of radiology.
The Nebraska Radiological Society provides several educational opportunities for its members. Membership meetings are held every year on the third Wednesday of January, February, March
and April at Happy Hollow Country Club in Omaha. They also hold an annual Summer Scientific
Meeting, which provides not only the opportunity to network with other radiologists, but valuable
CME hours. The location and theme of this meeting are determined each year by the NRS
Educational Programs Committee. “Save the Dates” are sent out at least six months prior to the
meeting and formal invites are sent out at least six weeks in advance of the meeting.
